I am considering buying a Revel II harness. Does anyone have some advice or pratical experiences with the harness ?
Hi there, Klaus, our friend from Austria was already flying with the harness and he provided us with some pictures and hints, why do not you check here?
Jorgen is now a happy pilot with his revel 2 i like the harness as well. very comfortable.
OK, good to know, we are glad to learn that. If Joergen has got any details, photos or anything, I guess pilots will be happy to get any more feedback on REVEL II.
After having spent almost ten flying hours (Ridge Soaring) in the Revel II harness I can only concur that I found a harness that meets all my expectations and demands. First of all, the Revel II harness is comfortable when working with the canopy on the ground/in the air. The desired “setup” is easy adjusted to acquire ones preferred flying style whether you’re a beginner or a skilled pilot. The harness translates the movements from the canopy with accuracy and preciseness which makes active flying and weight shifting a pleasure. There are two things though I think Sky should improve on the Revel II harness: 1. The legstraps on the L-model are too small. The length should be improved by about 2 - 3 cm. 2. The foot stirrup often conflicts with the speedbar which require the pilot to “manually by hand” fixing the stirrup position. This should be an easy “automated” process to be carried out by using only your feet allowing both hands on the brakes at all time. Especially when Ridge Soaring. I'll try to find and upload some pictures of the harness in the nearest future ...
My experience with the revel 2 very well build nice and light. the compartment at the bag is huge compared to many other harness i have seen and tried. now problem having all your gear with you any more. nice comfort and easy to get in to. the weight shifting is a pleasure compared to my old finsterwalder/charly harness and woody Vally mix.
Great Harnass, only problem is that the Large is a little bit too Small. (It is smaller than the previous Large sized AXEL....)
I have 86 kg with 182 cm, for me is revel 2 perfect. I feeling very comfortable, I like the low weight and it lokks nice. this range of harness is much better than the old one, but I'm waiting for excite 2!
I am 180 cm and 77 kg. Do I go for a large or a Medium??? Today I have a AvaSport Sprinter Large and it is to whide for my ass (I slide around inside the harness - not good). b) Does Revel II work well without a stirup/foot rest??? I have tried this for a few years but never got used to it or found any benefit. Cheers Oskar
HI Oskar I am 1.78m and 77kg. The medium is perfect. I would suggest that you measure the seatboard width on the avasport and compare it to the RevelII (m) which is 32cm.
Hello, I am considering Revel2 or Axel2. Does anyone have any comments about the comfort differences between these two and how they feel in the air? Specifically, weightshifting, stability, back comfort. Thanks.
HI Roger For me the RevelII is perfect. Very comfortable. It gives nice feedback, but not too much. The big difference between the two (AXEL and REVEL) is that the REVEL uses a Foot stirrup system, while the Axel does not have this. They are both very comfortable.
Thanks Steyn. I just purchased the Axel2 so will see how it feels. I definitely like the way it is built. Roger
